After two successful years, our current General Manager is returning to DK, and we are now looking for a new highly skilled and motivated manager to fill the position in South Korea. An exciting opportunity to manage and develop our organization towards further growth and success in the maritime industry. 

The Position:
As General Manager you serve as the direct link between our Production subsidiary in Yangsan, South Korea and the headquarter (HQ) in Hedensted, Denmark. You will be based in Yangsan and be ahead of business processes and activities related to management and development of the organization and the production setup to secure future growth and successful operation. 
This includes financial and operational responsibility to support the offshoring production/assembly of main products from DK to Korea, aligning with the company’s business strategy. 

You will work closely with the respective departments in our HQ Denmark, ensuring effective coordination and cooperation. Strengthening our connections with business partners in Korea and Asia will be a key focus, as well as further developing the operations team in Eltronic FuelTech Korea in collaboration with the COO in Denmark.

Responsibilities:                                                                                                                               

• Manage daily staff operations, including supervision, development, employee retention, and recruitment.
• Further develop an efficient and robust organization, today consisting of around 30 employees.
• Execute and develop the strategy and business plans for EFT Korea in collaboration with HQ Denmark.
• Contribute to the budget process and take responsibility for finance and legal areas in EFT Korea.
• Develop a credible and responsible profile for EFT Korea aligned with the values and Code of Conduct of EFT.
• Ensure compliance with local/regional/national laws and regulations in Korea.
• Manage delivery performance and maintain a high-quality level on products to customers.
• Create a network with relevant stakeholders in the marine industry and foreign companies with similar interests in Korea.

As the Cross-Cultural Ambassador, you will be responsible for facilitating effective communication, understanding, and collaboration between Denmark and Korea. You will act as a bridge builder between the cultural differences and provide insights and guidance to promote unity and create a collaborative work environment. 

Primary work tasks:

• Handle financial tasks and reporting to HQ Denmark, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
• Manage the operation budget for EFT Korea, ensuring effective cost control and resource allocation.
• Ensure stable and efficient daily operations, identifying and addressing any issues or challenges.
• Collaborate with SCM and Strategic Purchase in HQ around demand planning and local sourcing.
• Support the sales department in HQ Denmark with market information and insights.
• Coordinate and cooperate closely with department heads in Denmark, ensuring effective communication and alignment on strategic initiatives. 
• Optimize systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Report to and engage in dialogue with the COO, providing updates on operations, performance, and challenges.
• Manage facility-related contracts and activities in coordination with HQ Denmark.

The position is full-time and refers to COO in Eltronic FuelTech Denmark. 

Professional qualifications:

• Master's degree in finance/management or relevant business experience combined with a bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of senior-level management or director-level experience.
• Proven experience with operating with Korean/Asian culture.  
• Financial insight and understanding to achieve financial results.
• Good knowledge of the maritime industry.
• Negotiation-level English proficiency.

It is not a requirement, but the ideal candidate will have experience with equipment for alternative fuels under IGF and IGC codes, as well as knowledge of maritime classification societies

• Leadership capabilities to guide and develop the management team.
