Internship - Mechanical Engineer - Aarhus Maskinmesterskole

Position
We offer you the opportunity to join FuelTech’s R&D department, where you will gain hands-on experience in developing innovative solutions for the maritime industry. You will work cutting edge high- and low-pressure test equipment, contributing to the development of cutting-edge systems.

Your primary work areas could be: 

• Structural design according to relevant codes and rules
• Assisting in the concept phase of new products from an engineering perspective.
• Cross-disciplinary work with R&D, Operations, Sales, and Service
• Setting up prototypes and/or calculations subject to tests
• Specifying technical requirements concerning material selection, tolerances and performance criteria for mechanical components

Examples of tasks could be:

• Perform pressure loss analysis & test compared to CFD results.
• Explore the water hammer effect when fuel is brought to an immediate standstill
• Optimize energy requirements for different pump solutions and regulating principals 
• Optimizing pump and regulation method so that they can perform within strict requirements 

The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager of FuelTech, and you will have your own office space at our headquarters in Hedensted.

Your everyday work will vary with tasks and projects of different nature and sizes. You will be part of a professional, strong, and committed team with high moral, who is always ready with a helping hand whenever needed.

Professional qualifications
You are studying Marine Engineering (BTecMan & MarEng)

You speak fluent Danish and English, possess good IT skills, and in addition, have a good mechanical understanding.

Personal qualifications
You are structured and good at maintaining the big overview. You have an analytical mindset and able to analyse issues.

Most importantly, you are passionate about your profession and not afraid to take responsibility
